DOI: 10.1177/10778004008003002 What Kind of Mother...? An Ethnographic Short StoryUniversity of South Australia In this story, the author, an Australian mother, questions her reactions to the events of September 11, 2001. As she thinks and feels with the story and painting, searching for an answer to what kind of people commit acts of terrorism, she finds herself asking, "What kind of person am I?" In so doing, she invites her audience to question the role they may have played in making the world the place it is and what can they do to make the world a better and safer place.
