Dont You Wish You Had Blond HairUniversity of Vermont Aphenomenological study was initiated to discover the structure and essence of the lived experience of undergraduate women of color while attendinga predominately White university in the Northeast region of the country. Of those interviewed for the project, one participants responses were especially rich in descriptive narrative of her experiences while attending the university. So moved by the respondents honesty and openness to describe her experiences to a White, male faculty member of the university, the author felt compelled to highlight the essence of the participants story in a poignant and meaningful manner. The author chose poetic transcription to portray this lived experience.
